Milk Chocolate

Phase8 is MuscleTech's latest protein product, and it is, as the name suggests, a "multi-phase 8-hour protein." What that actually means is that Phase8 is a blend of a number of different proteins - milk protein concentrate, whey concentrate, micellar casein, whey isolate, etc. This blend is pretty good as far as many blended proteins go, since a lot of products have 'blends' that are little more than whey. Of course, WPC is still the second-highest listed ingredient, so the percentage of 'slower' proteins may not be overwhelming.

Each serving offers 26 grams of protein, which is okay for a 150-calorie serving. Phase8 is relatively low in fat, with 2 grams, and it has 7 grams of carbohydrates, so it's not quite a meal replacement. You'll also get 1 gram of fiber per serving, as well as some digestive enymes, which is a fairly original and worthy contribution.

When I started using this, I could tell it would be problematic. The protein simply refused to mix - worse than straight casein or any other blend I have ever used. This was a bit frustrating to say the least, as I am not a fan of extreme clumps. I was more disappointed when I tasted the Phase8, as it was vaguely chocolate-flavored but not very tasty. You'd think chocolate is a flavor that has long since been mastered, but sadly that is not the case. Given the expensive price (barring another BOGO sale), this is hardly worth the purchase.

Texture		Overall this is a good product, the texture of the powder is very fine making it disolve very easily with no clumping problems, taste is great and it smells great, I gave it an 8 cause their are better supplements out their if your willing to pay the money, the only reason I bought this was because it was a BOGO item.

Strength		I will drink a little before a run and have as a mid term caloric replacement during my workouts (i.e., 1 hr cardio, refuel, 1 hr strength, refuel, some core).

Gas or bloating	I mix with whole raw milk (mostly goat milk) very easy on digestive system, never any gassy side effects.

Texture		Second, I like to mix with 8-10 oz of water, using 6 or so will make it a disgusting sludge, it mixes too thick if you use the recommended water.

Taste		I did some light research on this product, read some customer's review and the taste ratings.
Taste		The nutritional listing, listed 0g of sugar (I should have known) thinking this vanilla flavor was going to taste like vanilla.
