I recently bought a five pound tub of Trutein Vanilla Protein Powder. I bought it because it had very high ratings for taste on bodybuilding.com and heard in person that their taste is delicious. The amount of protein per scoop is very good ( 25 grams for a level scoop ). It has a good amino acid profile which is very good for recovery purposes. When i first tried it, i wasnt really pleased. The taste was not as good as i wouldve liked. I personally didnt enjoy the vanilla flavor at all. It tasted more like chalk than vanilla. I have tried Optimum Nutrition and MTS Whey which are much better in my opinion. I bought it for 57 dollars, which is the average going rate for 5 lbs of protein. You get 67 servings per tub which is good. I can still chug it and drink it but it isnt pleasant. If you can deal with the taste, it might be good for you

Finally - a protein blend that tells you exactly how much of each source is in it! Trutein contains 40 percent whey, 40 percent micellar casein and 20 percent egg white protein, making it a nice extended-release blend. Each serving of Trutein contains 23 grams of protein, five grams of carbohydrates and 1.5 grams of fat. You'll also find 2.5 grams of fiber in each scoop. While this protein doesn't have CLA or MCTs, it does have Flax and Chia seeds to provide Omega-3 fatty acids, which is a nice touch. Trutein contains guar and xanthan gum, which is evident by the very thick consistency, which I really like. It also contains protease to improve digestion.

Also nice is the variety of flavors - there are unique flavors such as Chocolate-Covered Banana, which had a great balance of flavors, though the chocolate could have been a bit more rich. Unfortunately, the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup was lacking a bit in the flavor department, and tasted somewhat like a burnt cookie rather than a Reese's.
