Valerian Root is a natural sleep aid, and is also supposed to relieve stress and ease anxiety. I started taking the Nature's Way supplement during a particularly stressful time in my life, and while I'm not sure how effective it is at knocking out anxiety, it does help me relax a bit. The instructions say to take 3 pills an hour before bed, and that works pretty well. For the hour that I'm awake, I feel calm and at ease. I like it because you don't fall asleep instantly but can instead stay lucid and chill out. There was a little drowsiness upon waking, but I can tell that I had very restful sleep and don't recall waking up in the middle of the night all that often, which usually is not the case for me. Good stuff.
