This is the second time I have purchased this protein and I think it is a fantastic protein for the price. I have tried both the Swiss chocolate and the French vanilla and they are excellent flavors. This protein (both chocolate and vanilla) mixes up thicker in water/milk (compared to optimum nutrition) which I do prefer. The profile is very competitive with other brands and has quality ingredients that one would hope for in a protein. For around 35-40$ (depending on where you shop) you can pick up a 5lb tub that has roughly 62 servings @ 140calories and 21g protein. This protein works perfectly for baking and other food related dishes and the vanilla is awesome to put in a fruit smoothie. Elite Gourmet has no added sugars or aspartame which I prefer not to have. All in all I will continue to buy this protein and I am completely satisfied!

In a continuation of Dymatize's apparent quest to create the most number of product names that are a combination of the words "Elite" and "Gourmet" yet refer to different products, the company has just released the "Elite Gourmet" series of protein - essentially the exact same as the 12-Hour, 21 g of protein, 1-2 g fat, 6 g carbs, extended release.

This is great because it can be used any time of the day, and the price is unbeatable. In addition, the consistency has been changed so it is dramatically less "chalky." Mixability has been improved.

My only complaint is that the Chocolate Peanut Butter flavor has NO chocolate taste whatsoever. The label notes it tastes like Peanut Butter ice cream, and that's pretty accurate. Somewhat peanutty, with a creaminess - so more similar to vanilla PB than Chocolate PB. To be honest, I was expecting something similar to UP 2.0 (I know, I can dream), and this is NOT that.

The Cookies and Cream flavor, though, is very tasty. This is a flavor that is tough to nail done, but Dymatize did very well, both cream and cookie are present, sort of like if Double-Stuf Oreos were crumbled into a powder (sort of being key here).

A thought on the consistency - I was wondering why Dymatize would bother releasing a whole new line instead of just adding these to the 12-hour, but I think they actually changed the formula so there is less casein. The consistency is nowhere near as thick or clumpy as the 12-hour, so this could be little more than whey, although this is obviously just speculation.
