Chocolate

While some of South Beach Diet's products seem reasonably well formulated, the Good to Go Bars are not a particularly impressive offering. Although these may seem well-suited to acting as a between-meals protein boost, they aren't even the best choice for that application. Each bar offers only 9 grams of protein, which isn't anything special, even for those cutting. While the low protein content is inevitably hampered by the calorie content (just 140 per bar), these are really just a step above granola bars. While the bars do contain 3 grams of fiber, they are not filling at all, and you will be reaching for a second -- or better yet, something else more filling --as soon as you finish the first bar. While the chocolate taste is sweet enough, these do not even stack up to the average protein bar taste, and the bars are also incredibly dry. You can get a box of five for about $2, which isn't bad, but the nutritional profile isn't that great. Even if you're cutting, the low protein content and non-filling nature make these less than ideal.
