Lately I've found a small snack right before workouts or cardio has led to some quality sessions, so I've been trying different protein/snack bars to fit the bill. Short of Supreme Bars, the Blueberry Crisp Clif Crunch bar is one of the best tasting I've found. The taste is not quite that of a blueberry muffin but it's pretty sweet despite being less than insanely high in sugar (11 grams). Each bar contains just 190 calories so it's a light meal but it's rich in carbohydrates (26 grams) so it's pretty decent for energy. Only 3 grams of fiber so it shouldn't create a "SuperDump" and it has more electrolytes than even the new Xtend...which is still not much. It probably won't fill you up after a workout but it's decent for a between meals snack. Just 4 grams of protein so you may want to take it with a shake.
