Black Powder (MRI) Black Powder is is one of the first pre-training formulas to employ the NOS up-regulating whey "peptide fraction" ACTINOS2IR, delivered with MRI's "Instant Release" (IR) technology.* You get the over-whelming advantage of a surge in nitric oxide (N.O.'s upper limit), combined with pre-workout compounds - delivered in ratios measured to precise gram-molecular specification.*

The Science: Driving Performance and Size to New Levels!*

Nitric oxide forms the basis for both performance and size.* Nitric oxide dilates the blood channels that deliver vital training and recovery nutrients to your muscle cells.* In addition, nitric oxide is the molecule that "signals" and regulates muscle growth, muscle contraction, and metabolic adaptation to training.* Until now, nitric oxide had a "pre-set" limit. Not any longer. Thanks to MRI's innovative ACTINOS2IR (Instant Release) technology, Black Powder may help to support an increase in nitric oxide levels.* Black Powder's performance/size nutrient complex, measured with gram-molecular precision, floods your muscle cells in volumes never believed possible.* Your body's performance and growth signals amplify in both frequency, and duration.* Suddenly, size and training target sites light up!* Your strength, intensity, and focus find support they've never known.* Growth "signals" bombard your muscle cells with greater intensity, starting with your first set!* That's why with Black Powder, you'll get the most outrageously intense workout, and you'll have the super-dilated skin-ripping pumps to prove it!*

Blue Rasbperry

Obviously, there are plenty of pre-workout choices, so I elected to go with one that's been around for a while. The fact that a large tub was $13 on clearance at GNC did not hurt, either. Anyway, Black Powder has a pretty solid profile, with beta alanine, caffeine, green tea extract, betaine, creatine, MCTs and more. It'd be cool to get some BCAAs, but oh well. Perhaps not optimal for cutting, with 42 calories per scoop, but that's obviously not horrible. I was actually pretty excited about the profile, so I was disappointed that the effects weren't too phenomenal. I did get great pumps and focus for a while, but not as much energy as I was expecting. The mixability is pretty bad, I have yet to find the sweet spot using anywhere from 8 to 20 oz. of water. The taste is similar to what I remember of No-Xplode's Blue Raspberry, although it has a chalky, watered-down element as well. Worth the price I paid, not sure if I'd do full price.
