Protein Bar I used to love Quest bars - back when they were made with isomalto-oligosaccharides (abbreviated IMO). But over the course of the last year or so they began changing the recipe on flavor at a time over to "soluble corn fiber". I really don't like the new Quest bars much at all now.

Soluble corn fibre can also be called “corn syrup” or “corn syrup solids”, according to the manufacturer. That means this is syrup, but under a different guise. Also note that this is genetically modified (GMO). Avoiding GMOs is important to me, so this is a big negative. While the new bars taste *almost* the same as the old IMO bars, they have a different texture which is crumbly. But the thing I like least about them is that the new recipe causes me to have flatulence - very pungent flatulence. The old IMO bars never caused this problem.

So Quest bars have gone from a grade of "A" to an "F" from me.
