Chocolate

It's not every day that I find myself in a mega-retailer like Costco, so I try to make the most of it when I visit. This time, I opted for the large bag of Cytosport 100% Whey, which must be some sort of wholesale-exclusive product, as I have not seen it elsewhere. It is your standard whey protein powder, with 140 calories per scoop, 2 grams of fat, 3 grams of carbohydrates and 27 grams of protein. Nothing extremely exciting but not horrible either. Especially since the trend lately seems to have really carb-heavy protein powders for the sake of attempting to make them taste like cake (which they inevitably do not). This was a plain chocolate flavor but from the smell upon opening the bag, I detected a hint of marshmallow as well. When I tasted it, I found that indeed there was a kind of marshmallow taste as well, so this is really more of a Rocky Road than strictly just chocolate. Not that I'm complaining, as it tastes great. Mixability is great for a bulk product (6 lbs per bag). This may not be a premium product in terms of profile or taste but it is not bad at all, and a great option as far as bulk stuff goes. With whey prices rising out of control, definitely a good option here.
